When a East Coast manufacturer of hand soaps and sanitizers needed reliable level measurement of their chemical storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. A critical ingredient is sodium laureth sulfate, a highly effective foaming agent that’s used in most of their products. But its also a challenging liquid to measure, that’s sticky and foaming with a low dielectric value. The I&E technician was dissatisfied with a different radar level sensor brand that would lose signal during and shortly after tank filling. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our LR15 radar sensor installed in a metal stand-pipe to separate the foam and maximize the signal strength for low dielectric media. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to the PLC, which monitors the tank and alarms for chemical replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
