Stormwater In-Take Vault Radar Level Measurement

Sewer Pump Station Liquid Level Transmitter

When a Southeast water treatment plant needed reliable level measurement of their stormwater in-take vault, they turned to Flowline. The concrete vault receives, temporarily holds and then pumps stormwater to the plant for treatment and resupply as drinking water. Five float level switches control four lead-lag pumps in the vault. The I&C engineer stated that during tropical storms, the vaults been overwhelmed with inbound water and turbulence that caused the floats to tangle and pumps to fail. To correct this, they wanted to add reliable level measurement to the vault and use the floats as back up alarms. Additionally, they needed a field indicator to display the vault water level in feet. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to the indicator which repeats the signal to the SCADA that monitors the vault and controls the pumps. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
