Oil Frac Acid Storage Tank Liquid Level Transmitter

When a North Dakota well service provider needed reliable level measurement of their acid storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. The firm distributes hydrochloric acid to oil and gas clients for fracking. The fracture acidifying process improves well productivity by dissolving material that would otherwise restrict fluid flow. HCL is highly corrosive and vaporous, and the operators had reliability problems with ultrasonic level sensors due to vapor, and its attentuating effect on acoustic signals. For this reason, Flowline suggested our LR20 radar sensor that’s unaffected by vapor or corrosion with a PTFE antenna shield. To eliminate the possibility of delivery overfill, a AX13 level controller was also installed for high level pump shut off. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to the PLC, which monitors the tank and alarms for replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
