When a Virginia manufacturer of foam core signs needed reliable level measurement of their resin bulk storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. Urea and formaldehyde resins are blended into fillers, coatings and adhesives that provide structure to their products. Highly sticky, plant operators had ultrasonic level sensors in this application, but they became intermittent as the level approached the bottom of the tank. They determined that this was due to vapor and its absorption of acoustic signals over distance. For this reason, Flowline suggested our LR20 radar sensor that’s unaffected by vapor, and ideal for coating media like resin. The radar sensors provide reliable level data to the PLC, which monitors the tanks and alarms for replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
