Vineyard Water Storage Tank Ultrasonic Level Measurement

When a California vineyard needed reliable level measurement of their water storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. Ground water conservancy and irrigation efficiency are big challenges for drought ravaged farmers and automation is the answer. The farm has three wells, four hillside tanks that are manifolded together and thirty six drip irrigation blocks controlled by wireless SCADA. The water gravity feeds from the tanks and through valves to irrigate the blocks. The water is very hard, and the vineyard manager complained that prior float level switches would eventually seize due to scaling buildup, and they needed reliable level measurement. For this reason, Flowline suggested our non-contact UG03 ultrasonic sensor that’s unaffected by water hardness and ideal for storage tanks. Further, because the tanks were manifolded together, they only needed one sensor to measure all. The ultrasonic sensor provides reliable level data to the SCADA, which monitors the tanks and controls the well pumps. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
