When a Midwest aerospace company needed reliable level measurement of their hazardous boiler diesel fuel tanks, they turned to Flowline. Each underground boiler room has a 300-gallon fuel tank that’s refilled via tanker truck delivery. The fill stations are 1-2 stories above ground and the driver relies on level indicators to manage the fill process. There the maintenance staff said that prior ultrasonic level sensors became unstable during and shortly after tank fill due to foam or vapor release, and this caused driver confusion and risk of spills. For this reason, Flowline suggested our intrinsically safe LR11 radar sensor that’s unaffected by foam or vapor. The radar sensors provide reliable level data to the station indicators for filling and PLC for diesel replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
