Vaporous Urea Bulk Storage Tank Radar Level Measurement

When a Midwest distributor of agricultural chemicals needed reliable level measurement of their urea storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. Urea is widely blended into fertilizer and animal feed products as a source of nitrogen to improve crop yields or livestock metabolisms. The plant installed our ultrasonic level sensors on small ammonia tanks, and now they wanted to do the same on their tall urea tanks. But urea is exceptionally vaporous, and would attenuate their acoustic measurement signal. For this reason, Flowline suggested our LR20 radar sensor that’s unaffected by vapor and corrosion resistant with a PTFE antenna shield. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to our LI55 level controller which displays the level height and alarms for replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
