Low-Dielectric Chemical Tank Radar Level Measurement

When an East Coast aerospace manufacturer needed reliable intrinsically safe level measurement of their bulk storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. The firm makes specialty alloys and related chemicals for the aerospace industry. The chemicals are highly corrosive, vaporous and low-dielectric, and thus difficult to measure. The I&C supervisor said that a competitive radar didn’t work well during tank filling due to agitation and foam, and asked for a reliable solution. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our LR81 radar sensor that’s simple to adjust for difficult applications with our LevelTap app. In this case, a single advanced setting to optimize the sensor’s performance for low-dielectric media with agitated surface foam.
