When a Wisconsin steel plant needed reliable level measurement of their hydraulic fluid tanks, they turned to Flowline. Thirty-two hydraulic pumps pull rolled aluminum sheet through their galvanization process, and the supply of hydraulic fluid is critical to their operation. The process engineer was dissatisfied with a different ultrasonic level sensor with a 10″ dead band, that prevented them from manually filling the tanks to capacity, and thus increased their labor frequency and cost. For this reason, Flowline suggested our DL24 ultrasonic sensor that’s designed for small tanks with a 4″ dead band. The ultrasonic sensors provide reliable level data to the PLC, which monitors the reservoirs and alarms for replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
