Chartered with gathering and reporting scientific data on our precious water resources, the USGS manages thousands of monitoring stations across the country. To ensure the accuracy and reliability of such data, approved level sensor suppliers must comply with their SDI-12 signal requirements, and pass extensive lab and field testing by the USGS. EchoBeam LR81-0002 is now being deployed in the monitoring of ocean tides, inland waterways, lakes, rivers and creeks. Systems are configured by an integrator network that specializes in USGS and NOAA applications. Here the level sensor is installed in a box suspended over a creek that’s measuring the snowpack run off from the Sierra Nevada mountains. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to the RTU which monitors the creek and uploads the data. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
