Bulk Acid and Caustic Radar Level Measurement

When a Northeast chemical distributor needed reliable level measurement of their hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide bulk storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. The company receives, stores and tanker truck delivers highly corrosive chemicals from terminals to customers throughout North America. HCI and NaOH are very corrosive, vaporous and foaming, and are notoriously harsh on instrumentation and fluid handling equipment. At one facility, the I&C manager wanted to replace sixteen corroding guided wave level sensors with reliable non-contact level measurement. For this reason, Flowline suggested our LR85 radar sensorthat’s ideal for terminal storage. The non-contact level sensor features a PFA antenna for corrosive media, and its robust measurement is unaffected by vapor or foam, and fast fill or empty. The radar sensors provide reliable level data to the SCADA, which monitors the tanks and controls their filling and emptying process. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
