Hazardous Resin Bulk Tank Radar Level Measurement

When a California manufacturer of highway safety barriers needed reliable level measurement of their resin storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. The firm blends polyester resin with glass fiber, and injects the polymer into molds to produce their structural products. These resins are highly sticky, vaporous and flammable. Operators previously deployed ultrasonic level sensors here, but they experienced intermittent measurement due to vapor that attenuated their acoustic signals, and they needed reliable level measurement. For this reason, Flowline suggested our intrinsically safe LR11 radar sensor that’s unaffected by vapor.
