When a high school maintenance manager needed reliable level measurement of their bleach storage tank, they turned to Flowline. The staff maintains an aquatic center for their swimming, polo and dive teams, and water disinfection is critical to student health. To maintain it, they steadily inject sodium hypochlorite into the pools via six metering pumps. The pumps are fed by 5-gallon pails, and the pails are manually refilled via an outdoor storage tank. There the manager wished to install a level sensor that would indicate the bleach inventory back in the maintenance office. Further, he expressed concern about corrosion, vapor and humidity, which caused previous level sensors to fail or perform erratically in this application. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our robust 80-GHz radar sensors that are non-contact, constructed of PVDF, and whose measurement is unaffected by temperature driven vapor, humidity or condensation in the tank. The radar sensors provides reliable level data to the level indicator which displays in gallons, and alarms for chemical replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
