Radar Level Sensor
The 80 GHz radar level sensor provides reliable level measurement of tank, sump or reservoir applications with water, chemical or petroleum liquids or slurries; and silo, bin, stockpile, crusher or transfer station applications with grain, pellet, powder or aggregate solids. What is an 80 GHz radar level sensor and how does it work? The non-contact radar level sensor emits an 80 GHz frequency modulated continuous wave RF signal from its antenna. The 80 GHz signal travels through the air gap, reflects against the liquid or solids dielectric media below and returns to the antenna. The 80 GHz radar level sensor determines the reflection signal time of flight and converts this into level height, distance or volume. 80 GHz radar level sensors are the most reliable non-contact level or open channel flow sensor as their robust measurement technology is unaffected by most changes in the application media, process or environment.
