Pusher Boat Diesel Fuel Tank Ultrasonic Level Measurement

When Canal Barge of Louisiana needed reliable level measurement of their pusher boat fuel tanks, they turned to Flowline. The company transports crude oil barges through the intercoastal waters of New Orleans and up the Mississippi. The boats are powered by twin Cummins diesel engines that are fed by 10k gallon tanks. Fuel levels and other engine statistics are monitored and uploaded to their operations center via telemetry. Erratic fuel readings led to the discovery that prior float level sensors were sticking due to coating, and they needed reliable level measurement. For this reason, Flowline suggested our non-contact UG06 ultrasonic sensor that’s ideal for commercial marine diesel, water and greywater tank applications. The ultrasonic sensors provide reliable level data to the RTU which uploads the fuel status. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
