Foaming Wastewater Process Radar Level Transmitter

Foaming Wastewater Process Liquid Level Transmitter

When US Steel needed reliable level measurement of their wastewater storage and treatment tanks, they turned to Flowline. Water is used throughout the plant and their waste streams contain particulates, oil, chemical, dirt and grease that coats everything it touches. To avoid contact, the operators originally installed ultrasonic level sensors. They worked well with the exception of foaming wastewater that caused them to perform intermittently due to acoustic signal absorption. The I&C technician wanted one level sensor that could be applied across all their tanks. For this reason, Flowline suggested our LR20 radar sensor that’s unaffected by foam or any other wastewater variable. The radar sensors provide reliable level data to the PLC, which monitors the tanks and controls the treatment process. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
