Ferric Chloride Clarifier Tank Liquid Level Transmitter

When an Idaho water treatment plant needed reliable level measurement of a harsh application, they turned to Flowline. The operators add ferric chloride to sewage to coagulate and separate the solids in their stage one clarifier. During which, the highly corrosive iron-based chemical releases heat, vapor and foam when agitated. Here the plant experienced failures with pressure level sensors due to corrosion, and ultrasonic sensors due to vapor and foam. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our LR30 radar sensor that’s non-contact and unaffected by foam, vapor or agitation. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to the SCADA, which monitors the clarifier and controls the process. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
