Dam Diesel Generator Tank Radar Level Measurement

When an Idaho municipality needed reliable level measurement of their reservoir diesel generator tank, they turned to Flowline. The high mountainside dam receives the headwaters from six tributary creeks and diverts those run offs into a 40-mile tunnel that supplies local reservoirs. The operators remotely monitor reservoir levels, control the spillway gates and view cameras via SCADA. Grid power can be lost anytime due to weather or fire, and their diesel generator stands ready to supply power and maintain dam control. The I&C technician said they had to replace an ultrasonic level sensor that became unstable whenever the temperature dropped below freezing, causing false alarms and wasted trips to the reservoir. For this reason, Flowline suggested our LR80 radar sensor thats reliable, maintenance-free and unaffected by environmental temperature. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to the SCADA, which monitors the fuel storage tank and alarms for diesel replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
