When a Kansas City chemical distributor needed reliable level measurement of their terminal storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. At the facility, sodium hydroxide and urea chemicals are trans-loaded from railcars. The I&C technician said that during tank filling, the media is agitated, which generates vapor and foam, and that caused prior ultrasonic level sensors to function erratically. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our LR20 radar sensor that’s unaffected by foam or vapor. The radar sensors provide reliable level data to the PLC, which monitors the tanks and actuates a high level audible alarm to stop the fill pump. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
