When a Midwest metal parts manufacturing and finishing firm needed reliable level measurement of their nitric acid bulk tank, they turned to Flowline. The company uses nitric acid for parts cleaning and metal finishing processes such as etching. Nitric is extremely corrosive, highly vaporous and notorious for shortening the life of instrumentation and fluid handling equipment with malice. The I&C technician said, “We’ve burned through pressure, ultrasonic and guided wave sensors in this tank, and I need reliable level measurement.” For this reason, Flowline suggested our non-contact LR80 radar sensor that’s unaffected by vaporous media and entirely housed in corrosion resistant PVDF. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to the PLC which monitors the tank, and alerts for acid replenishment. Flowline is reliable measurement. |
