Mining Shotcrete Day Tank Level Measurement

When a Northeast mine company needed reliable level measurement of the shotcrete day tank, they turned to Flowline. Shotcrete or wet concrete that’s sprayed at high velocity on rock surfaces, provides necessary structural support to mine shafts. This mine batches, blends and dispenses 800 gallons of shotcrete into their mixer truck which transports the load to its point of use. There the I&C manager said, “The batch day tank is level based and really difficult with agitation, foaming and dust. We need reliable measurement, indication in percent, relay control to fill the tank, and high and low alarms.” For these reasons, Flowline suggested our LR80 radar sensorthat’s non-contact, unaffected by the media and maintenance-free. Combine that with our LI55 level controller and that’s their solution. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to the level controller which controls the transfer pump and alarms to alert the station operator. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
