Lime Mix and Storage Tank Radar Level Measurement

When a Gulf Coast sugar plant needed reliable level measurement and remote monitoring of their calcium hydroxide mix tank and storage tank, they turned to Flowline. The company refines raw cane into powdered sugar, and hydrated lime’s a critical input to their organic material separation and water treatment processes. To feed it, they continuously mix, blend and store lime on site. It was there that they had ongoing level problems due the extreme corrosive, coating and foaming nature of lime. The operations manager had enough. He hired a new system integrator saying, “Look we need reliable, maintenance-free sensors. We also need inventory visibility, whether at the tanks, or on our phones or laptops.” For these reasons, Flowline suggested our EchoBeam radar sensors that are unaffected by the media. The sensors are BLE connected to our wireless LevelHub gateway that pushes level data to our mobile LevelTap app and LevelHub.io website. Last a DataView indicator was installed next to each tank for local indication.
