Lime Slurry Batch Mix Tank Ultrasonic Level Measurement

Lime Slurry Batch Mix Tank Liquid Level Sensor
Lime Slurry Batch Mix Tank Liquid Level Transmitter When an Ohio water treatment plant needed reliable level measurement of their lime slurry mix tank, they turned to Flowline. Slacked or hydrated lime is used by the plant for water or chemical precipitation, coagulation, neutralization and stabilization. Lime slurry is notoriously messy with dust plumes, splashing and material buildup left on anything it contacts, including level sensors. Plant operators would make a batch and use a dipstick to manually check the level as feed pumps drew lime from the tank. But this led to lime shortages and process shutdowns. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our non-contact ultrasonic sensor, inserted through a hole in the tank top with two feet of excess cable. This allows the sensor to be periodically lifted, easily wiped of any buildup and placed back onto the tank. The ultrasonic sensor provides continuous level data to the SCADA system, which monitors the tank and alarms for replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
