Cosmetic Powder Feed Silo Radar Level Measurement

When a cosmetic manufacturer needed reliable intrinsically safe level measurement of their talcum powder feed silos, they turned to Flowline. The company makes baby powder, body wipes, diaper and rash creams for infants and all contain talcum. The powder is transferred from large outdoor silos to small indoor silos that feed their production lines. In each, level is measured to determine when additional powder is needed, automatically transferred and stopped. The silos are very dusty, and the I&C technician complained that previous 26-GHz radar sensors became intermittent due to material build up, and required frequent cleaning that’s unsustainable. For this reason, Flowline suggested our LR81 radar sensors that provide maintenance-free level measurement of dusty powders. The radar sensors provide reliable level data to the PLC that monitors the indoor silos and controls their refill. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
