Non-Invasive Wastewater IBC Radar Level Measurement

Non-Invasive Wastewater IBC Radar Level Sensor

Non-Invasive Wastewater IBC Radar Level Transmitter

When a North Am aerospace firm needed reliable non-invasive level measurement of their IBC totes, they turned to Flowline. The company makes specialized materials that are used in airplanes, satellites and weapons. Manufactured at low scale, their waste streams are pumped into IBCs, and then trucked to a third party treatment company. The facility manager had OSHA concerns associated with chemical contact saying, “We swap the tanks out every week. This includes having to remove, clean and re-insert the low-level switches into the new empty tanks, and I don’t want my people contacting this stuff. How can we measure level without having to insert sensors in these tanks?” For this reason, Flowline suggested our LR80 radar sensor, that when mounted above a plastic or fiberglass tank, reliably measures non-invasively through the tank top. Then they fabricated a hinged arm that allows them to easily move the sensor out of the way during forklift swap. The radar sensors provide reliable level data to the PLC, which monitors the IBC’s and alarms for maintenance. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
