Zoo Life Science Exhibit Pool Ultrasonic Level Transmitter

Zoo Life Science Exhibit Pool Liquid Level Sensor
Zoo Life Science Exhibit Pool Liquid Level Transmitter When a Southern California zoo needed reliable level measurement of their seal exhibit pools, they turned to Flowline. Weighing up to 300 pounds, harbor seals are large, inquisitive mammals that tend to locate, play with and destroy accessible instrumentation. Their peak activity generates wave heights up to 6″ with splashing and water loss, that requires level monitoring and frequent replenishment. The process engineer was also concerned with salt water corrosion resistance, and the deployment of an animal friendly level sensing technology. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our non-contact ultrasonic level sensor, mounted in a stand pipe to dampen the effects of significant turbulence. The ultrasonic sensor provides continuous level data to the PLC, which in turn, monitors the pool and controls the fill valve. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
