When a remote Puerto Rico water treatment plant needed reliable level measurement of their sewer intake vaults, they turned to Flowline. Sewage enters the plant through three vaults that are manifolded together at the base. Each vault has four float level switches and a submersible pump that are tri-plex alternated via PLC. The rural plant is located next to the Yunque Rainforest that’s a national treasure and highly sensitive habitat. To eliminate possible overflows and enable remote monitoring, the operator wished to install reliable level measurement in one vault and transmit level data to San Juan via RF link. Their integrator was concerned with agitation, foaming and obstacles in these deep and narrow spaces. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our LR80 radar sensor that’s unaffected by agitation, foam or debris, and ideal for sewer and storm pump lift stations. EchoBeam automatically filters out obstacles, is super easy to configure via our LevelTap App , and it operates maintenance-free. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to the PLC, which monitors the vault, controls the pumps and remotely transmits the data. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
