When a Midwest water treatment plant needed reliable level measurement of their sewage intake vault, they turned to Flowline. Sewage pumps into the facility and is initially held in an underground vault awaiting transfer into the treatment process. The media contains feces, paper, grease or trash, and often foams when agitated during pumping. To measure vault level, the plant oscillated between using pressure sensors that often clog or ultrasonic sensors that become erratic when foam is present in the vault. The IC&E tech said, “We can’t do this anymore. I need a sensor that works reliably in this application with a metal enclosure and simple push button configuration.” For these reasons, Flowline suggested our LR10 radar sensor that’s non-contact, unaffected by foam, easy to setup and housed in a rugged aluminum enclosure. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to the SCADA which controls sewage transfers to and from the vault. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
