Plastic Pellet Bag Fill Station Radar Level Measurement

When a Midwest plastic pellet distributor needed reliable level measurement of their bag fill station, they turned to Flowline. The company supplies PP and PE pellets to injection molders in large bags that are filled to order. During which, pellets are pneumatically transferred from outside silos to the station’s intake hopper. From there, the pellets are augured to the fill hopper where they gravity feed into bags. The IC&E technician said, “We need to measure the pellet level in both hoppers and alert the operator to low or high-level conditions for shut down. What do you recommend?” The LR80 radar sensor reliably measures solids material such as plastic pellets. Bracket mount the sensor above the hopper, point it at a near empty position, and turn the low dielectric switch on during LevelTap App configuration. The radar sensors provide reliable level data to the PLC, which monitors the hoppers and alarms for maintenance shut down. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
