Mine Discharge Open Channel Flow Ultrasonic Level Transmitter

When a Northeast mine company needed reliable flow measurement of their process water discharge channel, they turned to Flowline. The company mines iron and uses many thousands of gallons of water per hour washing thick clay off extracted ore when it exits the mine. The resulting effluent flows down a channel and into two settling ponds prior to be being pumped back to the mine. The operator said they must report their cumulative volumetric water use to the state and USGS, and additionally they wanted to monitor and alarm on high or low flow conditions in the channel. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our ultrasonic level sensor with an easy to configure volumetric flow output. Mounted above the weir, the ultrasonic sensor provides reliable flow data to the SCADA, which monitors the rate and alarms when out of range. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
