Gorilla Exhibit Water Sump Ultrasonic Level Measurement

Gorilla Exhibit Water Sump Ultrasonic Liquid Level Sensor

Gorilla Exhibit Water Sump Ultrasonic Liquid Level Transmitter

When San Diego Zoo needed reliable level measurement of their Gorilla Forest, they turned to Flowline. These gentle giants live in the mountainous rain forest, surrounded by vegetation, streams, waterfalls and ponds. They expertly recreate this habitat with interconnected water features. All gravity feed into a pump station that continuously recirculates the water back up to the top feature. But the sump also has leaves, twigs, sediment and agitation that can cause level reliability and maintenance problems. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our UG06 ultrasonic sensor installed in a stand pipe with a screen filter on the bottom. The ultrasonic sensor provides reliable level data to the SCADA, which monitors the sump and controls the VFD. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
