When a Gulf Coast municipality needed reliable open channel flow measurement of their canals, they turned to Flowline. Each year, the low-lying city is hit with tropical storms that can potentially flood and devastate their community. To mitigate this, the city has steadily increased the number of weirs and measurement points throughout their canal network. This allows them to see a storms impact in real time, and immediately adjust gates to better distribute water across the network. The IC&E manager required an accurate level sensor that’s unaffected by the environment, and a display to indicate flow rate in MGD with totalization. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our LR80 radar sensor that’s unaffected by rain, wind, turbulence or temperature, along with our LI55 indicator that provides linearization and totalization. The radar sensor provides reliable flow data to the indicator which repeats the linearized signal to the SCADA for telemetry. Flowline is reliable flow measurement. |
