When an Arizona municipality needed reliable level measurement of their sodium hypochlorite tank, they turned to Flowline. Adjacent to a local reservoir, the pump station transfers drinking water into the distribution system. During which, bleach is steadily dosed into each transfer for continued disinfection. Sodium hypochlorite is corrosive and vaporous, especially when agitated or at elevated temperature. The I&C technician said that a previous ultrasonic level sensor was intermittent in summer or when the tank was being filled, and this caused unacceptable alarms. For this reason, Flowline suggested our radar sensors that are unaffected by vapor. The intrinsically safe LR11 radar sensor provides reliable level data to the SCADA, which monitors the tank and alarms for chemical replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement. |
