Asphalt Slurry Seal Tank Radar Level Measurement

Asphalt Slurry Seal Tank Radar Level Transmitter

Asphalt Slurry Seal Tank Radar Level Sensor

When a Pennsylvania road contractor needed reliable level measurement of their asphalt storage tank, they turned to Flowline. The firm batches and pumps 500 gallons of slurry from an elevated mix tank to a horizontal storage tank for pump transfer to their slurry trucks. The storage tank is heated to 190º F. and slowly mixes with internal sweep paddles to maintain consistency. The operator wished to monitor the storage tank level and was concerned over temperature and the coating nature of asphalt. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our non-contact LR15 radar sensor that’s designed for elevated temperatures and ideal for viscous media. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to the indicator that displays in gallons and alarms for high level spill prevention. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
