Plastic Pellet Bag Fill Station Radar Level Measurement

When a Midwest plastic pellet distributor needed reliable level measurement of their bag fill station, they turned to Flowline. The company supplies PE pellets to injection molders in large bags that are filled to order. During which, pellets are pneumatically transferred from outside silos to the station’s intake hopper. From there, the pellets are augured to the fill hopper where they gravity feed into bags. The IC&E technician said, “We need to measure the pellet level in both hoppers and alert the operator to low or high-level conditions for shut down. What do you recommend?” For this reason, we suggested the LR80 radar sensor that reliably measures plastic pellets. The sensors were bracket mounted above each hopper and pointed at the near empty position. The radar sensors provide reliable level data to the PLC, which monitors the hoppers and alarms for shut down. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
