Water Retention Pond Vault Ultrasonic Level Measurement

When a California municipality needed reliable level measurement of their stormwater retention ponds, they turned to Flowline. The community receives 16″ of rain per year, yet most of that precipitation passes from creek to ocean with very little ground water replenishment. To combat this, the city installed a series of cascading ponds that capture and pump water from lower ponds back to the top ponds for continual recharging. There the operator said that silt in the pump vault clogged the prior pressure level transmitters, and they needed reliable level measurement. For this reason, Flowline suggested our UG06 ultrasonic sensor installed in a standpipe with a screen on the bottom pipe end to eliminate particulutes from entering. The ultrasonic sensors provide reliable level data to their SCADA, which monitors the lower pond and actuates the pumps. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
