| When machining parts, cutting energy is turned into heat. Cutting oils reduce friction, prevent rust and inhibit corrosion, resulting in improved productivity and extended tool life. Littered with scrap metal and contaminants, waste cutting oil is collected, cleaned and recycled for future use. Here, an EchoSonic II ultrasonic level sensor is installed over a waste oil recovery sump. The non-contact sensor reliably measures the waste oil filling process, and provides a continuous 4-20 mA signal to the PLC.
